Popeye the Dog needs a home

Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix and weighs about nine pounds. He is 1 1/2 years old and was found abandoned and never claimed. He is great on a leash and loves to run and play in the shelter yard. He has such fun with the toys and especially enjoys the tennis balls. He likes to be petted and cuddled and carried around and is such a friendly, good-natured little dog. He looks so adorable curled up on his bed in his kennel. He would do best in a home without young children- he is protective of his food and treats. He would do great in a quiet home where he can be king of the castle.
